I love gift shopping for my toddler but with so many toys directly at your fingertips (thanks amazon) it can be overwhelming. Toddler’s personalities are starting to take shape at this age, and it can sometimes be hard to decipher between toys they’ll play with and toys that’ll gather dust on a shelf.
As Christmas nears, I’m happy to share The Ultimate Christmas Toy Guide for Toddlers with you. Appropriate aged toys for toddlers 2 to 5 years old, this guide contains 15 toys that support pretend and independent play and for an added bonus, all of the toys on this list are screen free! Every toy listed, I have bought for my toddler or a friends/family toddler or it's on the Christmas list for 2024.

Electric Bumper Car // With over 13,000 positive reviews this is a parent and toddler favorite. The car can be controlled by remote or your little one can take the wheel with manual control. Comes with LED lights for added fun and choose between 8 different car color options.
Two-Sided Wobble Disk // A top pick in my toddlers collection of toys. She spends lots of time spinning and rocking, even taking her dolls and stuffed animals for a spin. Flip the wobble disk over to climb - although I caution climbing as it easily slides on the floor. Best of all, it doesn’t leave any scratches or dents on your hardwood floors.
Play Kitchen // This 2023 Parents Pick Award winner is also a staple in my toddler's room. I love all the design features including a stovetop, oven, microwave and refrigerator. All knobs turn for realistic play and it also comes with a working ice cube dispenser, including 2 wood ice cubes. It does require piece by piece construction which I found to be very time consuming. Worth the trouble but don’t save the construction for Christmas Eve night or it'll be a long one. To complete your play kitchen I’ve linked a couple of my toddler's favorite play food and utensils below!
Indoor Climbing Gym // An essential for surviving the winter months when playgrounds aren’t an option. Made of wood and pastel colors and features a smooth slide surface and climbing surface. Great for getting my toddlers extra energy out and keeping her entertained enough so I can get chores around the house done.
Silly Poopy's Hide & Seek // Who knew the poop emoji could encourage interactive play? This hide & seek game is fun for the whole family or can be used to get out of game playing...if we're being honest. Simply hide the Silly Poopy, follow the clues and enjoy a fun song once Silly Poopy is found. If poop emoji's aren't your vibe, there's an egg design option available.

Black & Decker Work Bench // A work bench that's fun for both girls and boys. Includes realistic lights, sounds, drill and miter saw.
Leapfrog Leapstart // An interactive bundle that encourages learning concepts. The best part is it grows as your child grows. With books for kids up to 7 years old. I've listed my toddlers favorite books below!
Toniebox Audio Player // If your toddler doesn't already have one, I'm sure you've at least heard about the Toniebox. The box itself comes in many different colors and with dozens of story and song characters to collect and choose from. The Toniebox is a favorite option if you're looking to cut down screen screentime.
Bean Bag Toss // Cornhole, but toddler style. This two-in-one yard game includes a bean bag toss and a velcro throwing target. Obviously made for toddlers (and my little one loves it), but that hasn't stopped my family from enjoying this game as well. It's small enough to play inside but also comes with yard stakes for outside set up.
Dinosaur Truck // I bought this for my nephew last year and it was a hit. It comes with 8 dinosaur figurines and a dino themed play mat. The truck is smaller than what it appears in pictures, but I didn't find it to be an issue like other reviewers did. I found the size appropriate for toddler hands.

Mini Indoor Trampoline // Another great indoor play option for when the weather doesn't cooperate. This mini trampoline easily folds for easy storage when not in use and the handle can be removed as your toddler grows.
Wooden Animal Puzzles // My toddler loves doing these animal puzzles. The jigsaw feature of this puzzle keeps her entertained and challenged without being too overwhelmed.
Duplo Legos // A toy shelf isn't complete without these classic building bricks.
Wooden Train Set // 110-piece train set that comes with multiple configurations for play. Includes wooden buildings, people and a puzzle pond for fishing.
Poke - A - Dot Board Book // The ever-popular poke-a-dot board book combines reading, counting and play into 20 pages. Your toddler won’t be able to resist to the fun popping noises…and neither will you!
